If you’re curious and committed about exploring new possibilities ,
you’ve come to the right place.
Hoping to be your best self? Psychotherapy is a process of personal growth leading to potential change in self-awareness, self-confidence, communication and relationships. A psychotherapist can help you navigate challenging circumstances and ease the way to a more fulfilling life. Reviewing your concerns, rather than struggling in isolation, can give you new perspectives and open up possibilities for change.
Learn MoreI can help you through many of the challenges that people face at home, at work and in life. As a Master of Positive Psychology (MAPP) and Psychotherapist near downtown Toronto, my approach to therapy is to help you to build positive life skills to address and help you to resolve relationship and personal life challenges.
I am one of a rare number of Canadian psychotherapists holding a Master’s Degree in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) studying under Dr. Martin Seligman at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. I am also experienced in a range of therapeutic approaches that have been shown to make a difference in everyday life. These include Positive Psychotherapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT ( Dialectical Behavior Therapy – a mindfulness based practice), and Gestalt/EFT (Emotionally Focussed Therapy). I am a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Toronto; the program - unlike a two-year master's degree - involves five years of intensive training, personal development and work with therapy clients. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am committed to the highest ethical standards and an ongoing regimen of professional development.
As a therapist, I am passionate about creating a comfortable and casual space for people of all ages and backgrounds. My role is to help you to feel safe, supported, and free to express feelings, process difficult experiences, gain insight, explore options and learn new skills. I aim to be warm, emotionally present and to work at a pace that suits you. Collaborating with you while you discuss your challenges, I offer my heartfelt attention, thought-provoking questions and respectful feedback. I welcome you to email me (mary@dancinginthe rain.life) or text 416-686-8682 to request a free consultation call.
